I’ve also heard about the credit card frauds etc.

To solve this problem I figured i’d drop by a health-food store, buy it not worry about the credit card fraud and get the health benefits of the acai berries

2 questions

1. Will they have it at a health-food store?

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace. com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Acai is a berry similar to strawberries or blueberries. Nothing special about them. They are rich in antioxidants and nutrients like all berries.

Beware the scams. If you must buy acai berry supplements, buy them at Walmart, cvs Pharmacy, Walgreens or your local vitamin/drug store. But what spurred this on was an advertisement for a Vodka that was suppose to help you loose weight. It’s obviously meant for adults but they were talking you can have both the benefits of alcohol and the new acai berry. Which it is a bit true about the alcohol part but not in abundance. After hearing this I nearly did a face palm.

So who else things that diet has gotten way out of hand. I also want to see what people on here think what a diet is.

G I completely agree. I ate terribly in high school cause I wasn’t taught any different. When I got to college and took an actual health class I decided to give up all junk foods and sodas and to exercise a lot more. It’s so true about the mental part. Not having that sugar was so difficult but after a while it got easier and I lost a total of 30 pounds. I didn’t think I was over weight but I was so wrong. I’m actually glad that I took that health class.

people place losing weight on this ginormous pedastal, losing weight is 100 times tougher MENTALLY than it is PHYSICALLY. if you can get inside your head and eat the right things and make time to work out properly & also sleep alot more and make your lifestyle generally alot more healthier than you will see that PHYSICALLY you will become healthier. more than 50% of losing weight is mental it’s not the physical pains of working out or "hunger pings" or w/e (they’re should be any if you eat the right things in small amounts or even normal portions like you said dont starve yourself) but it’s all the mentalness of im depriving myself of the food i like, etc. its all a mental game if more ppl knew that and werent so psyched out by the idea of losing weight, the concept of losing weight would be so much more open and less of embarking on this ginormous challenge & stuff just eat healthy and excersise you can’t go wrong.

Are any of the reputable and worth the money, and are there true benefits of the various ingredients (goji, noni, acai, mangosteen, etc…)?

Noni may be similar to Siberian ginseng in that it is a normalizer. Some of these products are way too expensive for the average person to use on a regular basis. They probably do good things if you could get them locally and use them fresh, they would do a lot more.

Recently I’ve gained some weight, by no means am I fat, but just like any woman I would like to be a few pounds slimmer. A co-worker of mine suggested trying acai berries and they helped her. She even recommended a website for where to get a free trial. Now my questions are:

All you need is a good healthy diet – lots of fruit and veg, and exercise. It takes time and motivation

Can anyone help? Is Vitamin K bad? and Is the Acai Berry as healthy as people promote it to be?

A little bit of Vitamin K won’t hurt you. It is true that Vitamin K helps blood clot. I personally know quite a bit about clotting and vitamin K, as I have 2 blood conditions that predispose me to clotting. This is not to say that if you ingest vitamin K you will suddenly have blood clots. This is not true.

In fact, low bone mineral density is often associated with low vitamin K levels and a vitamin K deficiency can compromise bone health. Unless you already have a condition that promotes excessive clotting, I wouldn’t worry about it. Besides, people are generally deficient in vitamin K these days due to the abundance of fast food and processed carbohydrate-laden junk food.

Furthermore, spinach and other green leafy vegetables have more vitamin K in them than acai does. Again, I wouldn’t worry about the vitamin K concentration of acai.

I am already in my late thirties and looking to shed some extra weight with the help of acai berry plus good eating habits and exercise..
after having had 2 kids i have put on quite a bit of weight.

Both.
However, if you’re only wanting it for the taste, it’s not worth all that money. My mom used to buy them all the time but we kind of stopped because it’s worth so much. If you’re wanting it to get healthier, (pretty obvious) then yes it’s a good choice to drink Mona Vie because that stuff is really good for your body. FYI it also tastes amazing!:)

I am even thinking of Hydroxycut possibly but kind of scares me..

Hi, first let us get all the hype out of the way. You are reading this to satisfy your doubts about ACAI. Right? So why should what I have to say make a difference? You do not know me, nor do you know most of the other people who are hyping this new berry from a palm tree. Before I tell you about ACAI, let me tell you a little about me.

I am a writer-huh!, my name is Jerry W. Rockett. I am published on none medical genre, mostly romantic. Here is what is claimed for Acai Berry Products, they are so delicate you are not likely ever to find the fresh berries. So we will deal with capsules and tablets products.

If you want help with diabetes take over the counter minerals Selenium, Chromium Picolinate and Vanadium. If you want to alleviate or prevent artherosclerosis, take 3000 mg of vitamin C and add Chia seed meal to your diet. An extremely high content of Omega 3/6 in the right ratio. One of nature’s secret super foods. Any color just in case you run into the Canada ads.

You see I also two flagged benefits that really relate to the antioxidant content of Acai. They are important considerations but you will not obtain the highest level available for a cost effective result desired.

Now to the bottom line about Acai. It has two major avenues in which the sellers are hyping the product. Cleansing and detoxification of the body, very important and desirable functions. The second is for weight loss. While Acai does have hunger depressants, it is ranked as 101 of 200 available products for that function. As to the cleansing and detoxification, there is some of that, but not the most effective way of accomplishing what you probably desire. In our modern world of food production, it is almost impossible to eat without eating some toxin material. Material which is intentionally put into your pre-prepared food items from your breakfast foods, all the way to your Gourmet. FDA allows food processors to ad without labeling over 15,000 chemicals to enhance flavor, color, shelf life, looks, taste and you name it, they have a compound just for you. Our body in turn treats each of these, along with the simple carbohydrates, as toxins. That only means our body goes into defense mode, when it should be in digestion and health. The point is, if you want to cleanse and detoxify your body, I do recommend doing that, then get a product specific for that function and do it often.

Okay ladies and gentlemen step right up and let me sell you Acai. Yea, yea, I too have an Acai product to sell. I believe this product offers the best Acai has to offer, but not necessarily all the things listed above, not as a sell promo topic. Please understand the difference. I am not promoting Acai with the hype items above, but my product does do all those things as well.

If you really want to lose weight, if you really want to make a positive change for your future health, let me suggest an eating lifestyle change. I will tell you more in a moment. You are genetically programmed by your DNA to be a certain shape, you cannot change that programming. Would it not be better and easier if you developed eating habits that allowed that form of you to show through rather than you trying to chisel a pound here and a pound there, then go back to your old ways. That is one major reasons diets do not work in the long run. You just cannot sustain them. So instead, why not change your eating lifestyle and bring your family along. The cook of the house should not be a short-order cook, but more the conductor of a gastro-symphony of appetizing food selections.

Pssss! One danger to look out for, the old meat and potato guy. He will hate this new style but tell him to grow up and live. Meat requires acid to digest and potatoes require enzymes, when put into the same digestive grinder that is mass conflict often leading to partly digested foods which may get stuck in the large intestines and putrefy. Tell him you will prove it at the autopsy.

Here are the basics to a eating lifestyle change:

No white food.No vegetable oils or margarineNo fried foods
No boxed foodsNo soft drinks, no carbonatedNo sweetened fruit drinks
No fast foodsNo snacks but raw vegetablesNo red meats
No food after 6PM

Do use olive oil and butter. Do eat six smaller meals per day rather than the traditional three. Never miss eating breakfast. Always wash any fresh vegetable and fruit products, you never know where they came from. Use your local farmer’s market if you have one. Drink fresh raw milk, goat is preferred. Eat light portions of the so called white meats, fish, turkey, chicken and pork and if you can get it, rabbit. Nibbling all day on fresh vegetables is a good thing but not raw fruits. Eat fresh fruits at each meal but not in between. Look into pick your own fruit sources, fresher and more nutritious. Get dairy products locally and eat lots of eggs, great for you.

Now here is the surprise. I really do not care where you obtain these next three items even if I do sell one of them. I highly recommend you obtain the Chinese brands of Goji Berries, super high in Beta Carotene and other essential nutrients, a super food. I mentioned this one earlier but I cannot over hype what I feel about the benefits of Chia sead meal. This is a power pack in a tiny seed you can hardly see, but rich in antioxidants, essential minerals, essential vitamins and every thing else you need for good health plus the Omega 3/6 combo mentioned earlier. Then to round out this healthy trio is the Acai. It does contain many of the essential nutrients our bodies need and ads just a twist to how the good compounds are put together, giving our body a great selection of health building nutrients. One other item to round your lifestyle of eating is a better water source. Go to Ebay and purchase a 3 oz. satchel of Prill Beads, Magnesium Oxide pebbles which you use to decontaminate your tap water for all your water based drinking fluid. We’ve been reading a lot in magazines and newspapers about antioxidant plant foods, including berries like blueberries and cranberries, and we keep seeing the word anthocyanins.

What are anthocyanins?

Anthocyanins (Etymology: Greek. anthos = Flower, kyáneos = purple) are water-soluble pigments reflecting the red to blue range of the visible spectrum. The colour depends on the acidity of the surrounding medium.

Anthocyanins exist only in plants with bright colors in everything from flower petals to autumn leaves and edible fruits or vegetables. Chemical identification studies reveal that there are as many as 600 unique anthocyanins in nature.

How are anthocyanins synthesized in the plant?

Here’s a brief botany summary. Anthocyanins are formed from chemical raw materials in the plant, using the amino acid phenylalanine, or another chemical called malonyl coenzyme A. These two substrates join to form the base material for anthocyanins called “chalcones” that lead to the production of anthocyanins after a series of enzyme steps.

The parent material of anthocyanins is a group of similar structures named “anthocyanidins” or “proanthocyanidins” which contain no sugar molecules. When sugars become attached, an anthocyanin glycoside is formed, taking the characteristic shape of anthocyanins.

When first isolated by chemists, many anthocyanins were named after the colorful flowers from which they were extracted, such as petunidin (petunia), rosinidin (rose) and peonidin (peonies).

The large class of antioxidant cyanidins is also anthocyanins – all these compounds belong to the group of compounds called flavonoids within the super-family of antioxidants named phenolics or polyphenols.

What is the purpose of anthocyanins in a plant?

Anthocyanins exist mainly to preserve the regeneration of the plant. In flowers, the colorful anthocyanins of petals attract pollinators whereas in fruits, like brightly colored berries, they reside in the skin to attract animals that eat the fruit and later disperse the seeds in their droppings. This is nature’s efficient way of symbiosis between a plant and feeding animal.

Anthocyanins also serve a protective role much like a “sunscreen” by absorbing the ultraviolet light that plants face from constant sun exposure.

This “sunscreen” function is thought to be the reason why many deciduous plants turn red in autumn. When green chlorophylls break down, and as leaves begin to dehydrate and die, anthocyanins shield the remaining leaf tissues while the plant moves nutrients back into the stems and vascular system of the tree.

How do people benefit from anthocyanins and what plant foods contain them?

In berry research particularly, anthocyanins have been shown to possess strong antioxidant qualities that guard cells of the fruit pulp and seeds from reactive oxygen species (“free radicals”) formed during normal plant metabolism and exposure to ultraviolet light.

When people eat anthocyanin-rich foods, we obtain the benefit of these antioxidant qualities, giving us the same capacity for combating the damaging free radicals.

Among plant foods providing the richest sources of anthocyanins are blueberries, cranberries, blackberries, red currants and cherries (up to 400 mg in every 100 gram serving) and Concord grapes (as high as 750 mg/100 grams). Two of the richest sources of anthocyanins in berries are in the black raspberry and tropical palmberry (or acai).

A good rule of thumb is this: dark blue, purple or black fruits that easily stain your fingers (or thumb) during picking are great sources of anthocyanins.

Non-berry plant foods rich in anthocyanins include brightly colored (bluish) vegetables like the purple cabbage and eggplant. White plant foods like banana, pear and potato do not contain significant levels of anthocyanins.

Are there known health values of eating anthocyanin-rich foods?

Medical research has been examining potential health or anti-disease benefits of having anthocyanin-enriched plant foods like berries included in the regular human diet.

Although the work must be considered preliminary until thorough clinical trials are completed, the list of potential benefits are many and includes positive effects against:

• Diabetes

• Inflammation

• Heart and vascular disease

• Alzheimer’s disease

• Other types of neurodegeneration

• High blood cholesterol

• Stroke

• Bacterial infections

I paid for this on 2/20 (13 days ago.)

I looked at my bank accounts and I have been charged $78.81 (on 3/4).

WTF?

I freaked out. I went to the website I ordered from and read the fine print. If you don’t call to cancel within the 14 days you get charged for the "trial" bottle, and are automatically enrolled for a month supply every month. I am PISSED. I did not know this obviously and am freaking out.

According to their rules I have until tomorrow to cancel this SCAM, before I get charged. But my acccount is missing that $78.81 NOW.

I can not afford to pay this and don’t want anything to do with these stupid pills.

I am on hold with the company right now, but I don’t think they are going to pick up anytime soon. What if they don’t?

What can I do? (besides not ever doing this again)
They answered. They are refunding $60.00 in 3-5 days. Thats how the make their money-the $18.81 they are keeping is their profit for scamming me. I am 20 years old and will sacrifice that $18.81. I have learned my lesson. Internet ordering B-A-D.

i am so sorry they got you too. they did the same thing to me charged my debit card $84.77 and 29.95 and a few $2 charges. i called my bank cancelled my card, and am waiting on the charges to clear in order for my bank ( regions ) to dispute them. i cannot get a person on the number i called to cancle my order, that i didnt even order! its such a scam and should be illegal. these so called terms and conditions are not visable when placing your "free trial order". i am 19 and cant afford this either, my bank says that they will take care of it so for now i dont know. i would suggest calling your bank and telling them that you have unauthourized charges to your account, as i did and let them handle it. chances are that they have already heard of this scam, people are saying as of now it is the number one scam in america.

You can usually find them in drug stores… in the vitamin aisle.

You can do a search for cinnamon tablets online and you will find a number of different brands.

Previously i tried acai berry but without success. In 2005 i was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and I’m "very overweight" (250 pounds). The doctor said I should think about losing some weight and start to exercise. I’ve had three back surgeries since 2001, I used to be a size five. But then I blew up to an astonishing size 22. I’ve tried throwing up my food but that I could never succeed at it even though Ive tried a thousand times. I’ve try marking down everything I eat, took weight loss pills and exercising to burn the extra fat. You name it, i’ve tried it.
